Rock relief of Persian king Bahram II and his royal family carved over older Elamite relief dated approx. to 1200 BC. Naqsh-e Rostam Necropolis, Iran.


King Bahram II ( ruled 276–293) of the Sassanian dynasty is depicted in the middle of the relief and his queen and princes on the left. The only survived part of the much older Elamite relief dated back to approx. to 1200 BC is the figure at the far right edge of the composition.
