A spiral galaxy is a galaxy, a distinct group of stars held together by gravity, with arms that spiral out from a central nucleus (white in this case). NGC 4622 lies in the constellation Centaurus. This NOAO (National Optical Astronomy Observatories) image was taken by the 4 metre telescope at the Cerro-Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) in Chile.
