This distinguished lady, who was commemorated in elegies by Ben Jon-son and others, sat to many artists for her portrait, the best known ofwhich is by Sir A. Van Dyck at Windsor Castle. Except that he studiedunder Lucas de Heere, little is known of Marc Geeraerts. Apart from thegreat picture of the Spanish Ambassadors in the London National Por-trait Gallery, and the signed (M. G.
