12 big hot air balloons ascended Sunday evening at about 7 o'clock from nearly the same spot on the grounds of the Royal Palace Rosenborg in central Copenhagen as balloon skipper Johan Peter Colding ascended from 200 years ago on the first Danish balloon voyage. The low sun and a blue sky gave a perfect background for a very colourful and spectacular sight - and stopped most citizens in Copenhagen in their doings to watch while the balloons slowly drifted in a northern direction. (Should have been west - but it seems that the Clerk of the Weather suddenly changed his mind).
