The IKEA name on the side of a large furniture warehouse.
IKEA is the world's largest furniture retailer, probably best known for its flat pack, self-assembly furniture. The company was founded in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad in Smaland, Sweden, with the name being the initials of his name, his childhood home and his home parish. The chain has 313 stores in 37 countries. The photograph shows the IKEA store on the outskirts of Montpellier in southern France.
