Sports stadiums. Satellite image of two sports stadiums (lower left) in Denver, Colorado, USA. North is at top. This image was taken on 19 August 2001. Mile High Stadium (orange seating, built in 1948) was demolished later that year. The other stadium (Invesco Field) was built to replace it, It is home to the Denver Broncos American football team, and it opened in August 2001. The stadium is located in downtown Denver, on the banks of the South Platte River (at right), at the intersection (lower right) between Interstate-25 (vertical) and Colfax Avenue (across bottom). Surburban housing (grid, upper left) and a fairground (upper right) are also seen. Image from the Ikonos satellite.
