Brazil, Brasilia: Statue of former president and founder of Brasilia Juscelino Kubitschek in front of his Memorial JK


Juscelino Kubitschek was the president of the Federal Republic of Brazil between 1956 and 1961. He was very popular and a man with modern ideas and visions. He founded the new capital Brasilia which was inaugurated in 1960. After his death his wife Dona Sarah initiated the construction of the Memorial JK to honor his legacy. The Memorial JK was opened in 1981 and designed by Oscar Niemeyer.
