There are severalchurches and various hotels and boarding houses where vis-itors come in increas-ing numbers eachseason, delighting tolive in this smilingdell in the southwest-ern margin of theCatskills, seventy-eight miles from theHudson. There ap-pears to be a new in-terest in this historictown and many ad-ditional attractivesummer homes THE CATSKILL MOUNTAINS. 59 SOUTH KORTRIGHT is at the end of the next fourmiles down the Delaware and 1,527 feet above tidewater. It is the center of a rich dairy section. Thetown was settled by sturdy Scotch and Irish people, towhich nations so many of the Delaware farmers are largelyindebted for their rugged and honored ancestry. They camein at an early period and had their full share of the Indiandepredations so prevalent at that time. The South KortrightInn is one of the pleasing new features of this locality, and isan up-to-date and first-class place for the entertainment ofsummer visitors.
