5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Nov. 12, 2016) Cmdr. Chris Gilbertson, commanding officer of the guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87), gives Commodore, Amphibious Squadron Six Capt. Byron Ogden a tour of the ship during a visit. Mason is deployed to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 5th Fleet area of operations.
