Artwork comparing the rings of the gas planets to scale. Each giant planet has a ring system, but they are all very different in scale, makeup, the size of their particles and colour. In terms of planetary radii, the rings of Uranus extent farthest from the planet, although the outermost rings (mu and nu) are very tenuous. The most massive and brightest ring system is Saturn’s, composed of particles of Ice.
