Spontaneous Blisters in Diabetes. A small percentage of persons with diabetes mellitus ha ve been noted to develop spontaneous blistering especi ally on the feet and legs. These lesions usually heal w ell without treatment but lesions may rupture develop an ulcer or become secondarily infected. Diabetes, also called adult onset diabetes and/or Non-insulin dependent diabetes. Diabetes is a disease in which your blood glucose or sugar levels are too high. Glucose comes from the foods we eat. Insulin is a hormone that helps the glucose get into your cells to give them energy. Type 1 diabetes is the type of diabetes in which your body does not make insulin. Type 2 diabetes is the more common type of diabetes where the patient’s blood sugar is higher than it should be and too much insulin is produced to counter this blood sugar increase.
