Marot illustrates it in plates, and the planwith salon and the vestibule in the centre, the huge cupola, and certaindetails of the design, are characteristic of Le Vau. Unfortunately Marotomitted the name of the architect, but this may have been a mature Marots scale is in toises (fathoms). The entrance hall, 60 feet by 37 feet, with itscolumns and its double flight of stairs leading out of it, suggested interesting possibilitiesin the design. No. 24, Quai de Bethune. Pi,.
