Corporal Walter Birkley, an ordnance handler with Marine All Weather Attack Squadron (VMA (AW) 225, lifts the last of six 500-pound bombs onto a Grumman A-6A Intruder aircraft for a ground-controlled bombing mission in Vietnam. This mission represented 30,000 tons of ordnance dropped by VMA(AW)-225 since February 1968. Gunnery Sergeant Hillary L. Watson supervised the loading.
