The slight sprinkling of inhabitants yet remain-ing on Smutty-nose and elsewhere, who seeminclined to make of the place a permanent home,are principally Swedes and Norwegians; and afine, self-respecting race they are, so thrifty, clean-ly, well-mannered, and generally excellent that onecan hardly say enough in their praise. It is to behoped that a little rill fiom the tide of emigrationwhich yearly sets from those countries towardAmerica may finally people the unoccupied por-tions of the Shoals with a colony that will be acredit to New University ofConnecticut Libraries
