The air is taken inthrough a duct on the roof of the ad-ministration wing about 12 feet abovethe sidewalk level and enters the set-tling or washing chamber, whence itpasses through water sprays and elim-inators. This apparatus is located at the baseof the intake shaft. A water pan 5x8feet and 1-5 inches deep was constructedin the concrete floor, this pan being pro-vided with suitable water supply, drain.
