Abell 3376 galaxy cluster. Composite image of the galaxy cluster Abell 3376, combining X-ray data (gold) from the Chandra X-ray Observatory and ROSAT (Roentgensatellit), radio data (blue) from the Very Large Array, and optical data (rest of image) from the Digitized Sky Survey. Two different teams used Chandra observations of galaxy clusters (including Abell 3376) to study the properties of gravity on cosmic scales and test Einstein's theory of General Relativity. The results were published in 2010. Abell 3376 is about 614 million light years from Earth, in the constellation Columba. This image is around 5 million light years across.
