Near thetheater a rustic bridge crosses the pond, and in the middle of thepond is a wide platform with rustic railings, which is designed fordancing parties. The stage of the theater is a wide open platform, with suitabledressing rooms. The seats are arranged in rows on the slopingbank of the glen, being well shaded. Thecars cross the river from Lewiston and pass through the adjoiningcity of Auburn, then out to the lake on which the park is located,and from which the cities of Lewiston and Auburn receive theirwater supply. The attractions here consist of a small rustic theater,with open stage, where the seats are supported in tiers by timbersand braces. The place is well shaded, and scattered among thetrees are quite a number of animals including bears, moose andelk. On the lake a large number of boats are kept, which arehired to boating and fishing parties. This park, like the other,enjoys a liberal patronage, and very creditable vaudeville shows aregiven both afternoon and evening. The street railway system embraces the local lines in Lewistonand Auburn, which are on opposite sides of the AndroscogginRiver, with lines leading out into the country in different direc-tions, three miles to East Auburn
