Sean Solomon, MESSENGER principal investigator, speaks at an event to celebrate the conclusion of the MErcury Surface, Space ENvironment, GEochemistry, and Ranging (MESSENGER) Mission Thursday, April 16, 2015 at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC. Panelists at the event shared scientific findings and technical accomplishments of the more than 10 year long mission. MESSENGER is expected to collide into Mercury at a speed of more than 8,750 miles per hour toward the end of April, 2015.
