The Beacon, Esplanade Feature, Redcar
The £ Redcar Beacon is an 80ft tower built as part of the town's wider seafront regeneration scheme. Housing a cafe and office space, as well as a viewing platform, it was renamed after initially being known as the Vertical Pier - attracting much controversy. It was officially opened by Redcar and Cleveland Council in 2013.
