A dagger for officers of the Russian navy, with a superimposed Order of St. George for bravery Blade of quadrangular section with floral designs etched on both sides of the forte. Gold-plated brass hilt (varnished in places) bearing the enamelled (chipped) device of the Order of St. George on the pommel. The Tsar's ciphers on the sides were removed later. The Cyrillic inscription, "For Bravery" is engraved on each side of the quillons, which are also stamped "7". Leather-covered scabbard. The brass mountings retain some gilding. Length cm.
