The Tay Road Bridge with navigation channel, an important road bridge in Scotland. It crosses the Firth of Tay from Newport-on-Tay in Fife to Dundee.

The Tay Road Bridge in Dundee is undergoing crucial engineering works to replace bridge bearings. The project involves jacking up in stages 2 kilometres of bridge in order to replace the 160 main bridge bearings, installing steel plates above and below. Fosroc grouts including Conbextra EP10 and Renderoc LA are being used by main contractors Cleveland Bridge and sub-contractors Castle Contracting CCL, because of their fluidity and high early strength.’ Conbextra EP10 is being used to infill the 3mm gap between the concrete soffit of the bridge the upper main steel plate. In addition, 2000 bags of Renderoc LA are being used for the new bearing plinth and Renderoc DS is being trialled for the diaphragm wall infill. The bridge is 2250m ( miles) long and 10m (32 feet) above water level, spanning the estuary of the River Tay between Dundee and Newport on Tay. The cost of the project has been estimated at £ and is likely to take around 18 months to complete. The bridge is a vital roadway into Dundee and is being kept open during the day with just one lane of traffic and is closed at night when the jacking takes place. The bridge, constructed in August 1966, is vital to the local community and is closely monitored.
