A relative helps a Saami briedgroom put on traditional clothes before the wedding ceremony in the church of Kautokeino, Norway. She adjusts the bindings around the lower legs that keep the snow from getting into the shoes. The trousers and the shoes are made of reindeer fur. The Saami living in Kautokeino celebrate weddings and other life cycle ceremonies at Easter time, after which the reindeer herders move with their herds to the Atlantic coast for summer pasture.
