Completed in June, 2010, the Mather Point Amphitheater allows park visitors to view the Canyon’s famous vistas from a beautiful location, while seated on native limestone. The 2010 Mather Point and Grand Canyon Visitor Center improvements created much needed parking at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, a vehicle-free visitor experience at Mather Point, a new rim-side amphitheater, and many informational and interpretive improvements to the visitor center plaza. Implementation of this plan has resulted in a vastly improved and more intuitive visitor experience. NPS
