A puma concolor or cougar rests on its perch amongst the trees.
One of the few 'big cats' native to the Americas, the cougar (Puma concolor) has an extended range that extends from the Yukon to the Andes. These reclusive cats often keep to themselves but sometimes make news with occasional attacks on humans and livestock in rural and mountainous areas of North America.
