A farmer clearing his land on a Caterpillar D6 track-type diesel tractor on a family farm, USA in the early 1950s. The tractor is a medium bulldozer manufactured by Caterpillar Inc. (or CAT), an American corporation that designs and manufactures commercial vehicles, machinery and engines worldwide. It is the world's largest construction equipment manufacturer. The company traces its origins to the 1925 merger of the Holt Manufacturing Company and the C L Best Tractor Company which then became the California-based Caterpillar Tractor Company. This image is from an old American amateur Kodak colour transparency. It will look slightly soft if used at too large a size – a vintage 1950s photograph.
