The village is situated on one of theaffluents of the River Lys. It was in the xii dependance of the countship of St. de Radinghem was its Seigneur in de Radinghem served in Gascony,in 1296, under the Count of Artois. The lordsof Senhs were in the xv c. and xvi c. lords ofthe lands of Radinghem, since which time ithas been in the possession of the families ofHezecques and Sergeant de Monnecove. It wasin former times a parish of the diocese of Boulogneand the deanery of Blequin. Since the concordat. A church is known to have existed here in1091, but unfortunately fell into ruin in theXV c. No time was lost in rebuilding it, butit was again destroyed in the beginning of theXVII c, when the chateau also shared in theruin, both catastrophes being caused by oneof the many wars at that time devastating thecountry. The chateau was at that time theproperty of the rich and powerful family of Dela Haie, Counts of Hezecques. The chateauwas rebuilt in 1620, and the church in 1628, thedate showing itself in the apse, holy-water stoop,and porch. The Chapter of Therouanne retiredto Ypres after the dissolution of Therouannein 1533, but retained the tithes of Radinghemon condition that they gave back to the cureone-third of them, and provided the upkeep ofthe choir of the church.
