The guide-block is then turned over on to the just-pressed edge of the wax sheet, and held there while the latter is raised to its position at right angles to the joining. If the wooden wheel is kept slightly damp, and the wood of the sections perfectly dry, this method of fixing is quite secure, while, with a little practice, it can be done very rapidly. Then we have the ingenious plan of fixing foundation, perfected by Mr. Howard, in which the top bar is divided and the sides of the sec- tion grooved. The cut (Fig. 19) illustrates the method of attaching the foundation to the bar,.
