The Falkirk Wheel canal boat has just exited the lower boat carrier on the boat lift and has docked to discharge passengers

Editorial use only. No commercial use. The Falkirk Wheel has just completed the 180 degree rotation with both canal boats lifting/lowering the vessels 25 metres. The returning vessel can be seen moored to the berth to discharge passengers. The semi circular visitor centre is to the right and boat piers for mooring are to the left. The lock exit to the Forth and Clyde Canal can clearly be seen to the left of the visitor centre building. The main purpose of the Falkirk Wheel is to connect up the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal avoiding the building of a series of individual locks
