A Buddy Holly poster from his final performance in Clear Lake, Iowa, in 1959. Also listed: The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens. All perished the next day on Feb. 3, 1959. The careers of the three American music legends were unfortunately cut short as a plane carrying Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and Richardson ( The Big Bopper) crashed in Clear Lake, Iowa. It became known as "the day the music died".
