Benign rectal growth. Endoscopic view of benign (non-cancerous) tubular adenomas (left) in the rectum close to the anus. Adenomas are growths that arise from glands. They can be an important early warning of potential cancer development. If the adenoma remains benign then it may be left in place unless it causes discomfort by obstructing the passage of waste.
