This was in connection with the Adendorff concession,and some excitement prevailed both in South Africa and in Englandas to the possible consequences. A large party of Boers was organizedunder the leadership of Colonel Ferreira with a view to occupying partof Mashonaland in June, 1891. Lord Loch, at that time Sir Henry,promptly issued a proclamation announcing that any attempt to occupyBanyailand would be regarded as an infringement of the rights of thechartered company.
