He was elected member of Parliament in 1761, and died inOctober 1767. ^ Philip Durell received his commission as captain in the Royal Navy,February 6, 1742. In 1743 he commanded the Eltham, of 40 guns, in theattack on Porto Cavallo, Venezuela; in 1744 he served on the Home station,and in the Leeward Islands ; and in April, 1745, was sent to Cape Breton.
