Wood Anemone (Anemone nemorosa) with a Running Crab Spider hiding underneath the androecium.
I was photgraphing Wood Anemones (Anemone nemorosa) in my local wood, Grove Wood in Bristol, as I have done many times before when I noticed this spider hiding underneath the androecium. I hadn't seen this spider or behaviour before. I observed it for some time but it didn't move so I can't be certain of an idetification but research suggests it could be a Running Crab Spider (Philodromidae) as they lurk in places attractive to pouncing.
