You will see, if you trace out the connections, that, with the switch in the first position, deflection to your right means current from B to A, that in the position IP it means current from B to C, and that in the posi- tion 11^ it means current from C to A. By a glance at the switch and reverser, you can therefore recognise the direction of excitation and the direction of response at B or at A ; and it will be a perfectly simple matter to work through the four tests.
