Union Square is an historic and important New York intersection, where Broadway and 4th Avenue (former Bowery Road), the two principal thoroughfares of Manhattan Island, come together. Between 4th Avenue (left background) and Broadway (right background) rises '1 Union Square' with its Metronome wall sculpture and large orange digital clock. This public art installation, costing $ million, was commissioned by Related Companies, the developers of the building. The clock's 15 orange LED digits display the time in 24 hour format.
