Stapafell is a volcanic mountain on the south side of Snaefellsnes peninsula in west Iceland. This palagonitic pyramide is 526 mt. in height and at the top there is the rock Fellskross, an ancient sacred symbol sign of holy powers at the times of the vikings. It is said that the mountain is home of hidden people, also called elves.
