The inner court & entrance passage of Dun na Maigh Iron Age broch, Sutherland, Scotland, UK, looking SSE to Ben Loyal. Much of the broch has collapsed & the interior is full of tumble but a cell survives within the wall & a staircase leading up to first floor level. The entrance passage has two sets of checks for two wooden doors with a guard cell between them. The broch is built on a rocky knoll on the N end of a ridge overlooking the Kyle of Tongue with the Kinloch River to the E. On the W the drop is precipitous, the easier N & S approaches are guarded by an outwork wall.
