Excavation site of the Valdaro Lovers. Prehistoric irrigation channel leading to a water basin (upper left) in the archaeological site of the Valdaro Lovers. The Valdaro Lovers is the name given to two embracing neolithic skeletons that are believed to be a man and woman in their early twenties who died about 5000-6000 years ago. Other neolithic skeletons, artefacts and settlement rooms were also found at this site. Photographed at , near Mantova (Mantua) in Lombardy, Italy.
