The writer considers the Llangattock exam-ple at least doubtful. The slab on which it iscarved is probably of eighteenth centuryworkmanship. Two demi-figures, one male andone female, are put one on each side of a much-conventionalised tree, which contains in itsupper branches a sort of star within the cir-cumference of a circle.
