Sacrificial scene depicted in the marble relief from the Parthian Monument in Ephesus (now Selçuk, Turkey), now on display in the Ephesos Museum in Vienna, Austria. The Adoption ceremony on 25 February 138 AD, when Emperor Hadrian adopted his successor Antonius Pius, who in turn adopted his successors Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus is depicted in the Roman marble relieves dated from the 2nd century AD. Attendants with the sacrificial bull are depicted in the fragment.
