The landscaped gardens of Rousham House displaying their autumnal colours with a sculpture by Scheemaker on the edge of the path, Oxfordshire,England

Beside a large Sweet Chestnut tree and a carpet of fallen golden leaves, overlooking the manicured lawns of Rousham House and its parkland trees towards the macarbe 18th Century statue of the Lion and Horse by Scheemaker, which stands at the top of a steep bank above the River Cherwell, Rousham House gardens, Oxfordshire. The grounds, seen here in warm autumnal afternoon sunshine, were re-modelled in the early 18th Century by William Kent (1685-1748), and remain today much as he left them, and are a fine example of early English garden landscape design
