Leaves firm, entire, the lowerand basal ones oblong or spatulate, obtuse oracute, narrowed into petioles, the upper sessile^ orclasping, lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, 2-3long; thyrsus narrow, sometimes i-sided, usuallyleafy-bracted below; pedicels becoming 4-8long in fruit; calyx-segments lanceolate, acute,2-3 long; corolla blue, 9-:0-long, its tuberather gradually dilated, the limb 2-lipped; sterilefilament bearded along the dilated summit; cap-sule acute, twice as long as the calyx.
