This picture was taken at the Castello Maniace which lies at the tip of the tongue of land known as Ortigia in the port of Siracuse in Sicily. The castle, constructed in the thirteenth century, was both a fortification and citadel. Presently it is one of the most popular sites for tourists visiting the city of Siracuse.
