Soon after he began tofail in both mind and body, and died on the 19th of July last, andhis remains now rest in Flaybrick Cemetery, Birkenhead, close tothe glaciated areas he so frequently visited and described. Hispapers on the Glacial Deposits will hold a permanent place in geo-logical literature, and he will be remembered for his kind and gentledisposition by all who came in contact with him.—G. H. M.
