Romer complex on Romerplatz, preparing for Saturday outdoor entertainment 2

One of the most photographed buildings in Frankfurt, the Romer complex shown here on a Saturday morning in late summer with the Romerplatz being prepared for msical entertainment with food and beer stalls. The Romer was Frankfurt's former town hall. This area was the centre of Germany's largest medieval Altstadt or old town quarter and was completely destroyed in 1944 during the second world war. The buildings now lining the square are all reconstructions.
