Noah's family tree. 17th-century depiction of the family tree of the Biblical patriarch Noah according to the Judeo-Christian biblical tradition of Genesis. After the deluge, Noah's sons Japeth ('Japheth'), Shem ('Sem') and Ham ('Cham'), shown at centre, repopulated the world. Their descendants are shown on the branches of the tree. This page is from 'Turris Babel' (1679) by German Jesuit scholar Athanasius Kircher (1602-1680). The engraving is by Coenraet Decker (1651-1685).
