He was a good soldier in every sense of the word. He was discharged from the service on expiration of termof enlistment of his regiment, July 6, 1864. ReenlistedFebruary 28, 1865, in Company D, Fourth United StatesVeterans, and was mustered out of that regiment February28, 1866, at Tod Barracks, Columbus, Ohio.
