A very early, extra fine heading lettuce for spring and fall use in the open garden, or for cold frames during winter months. The inner leaves are tightly folded, of good substance. The entire heads are blanch- ed to a rich golden yellow and have a rich buttery flavor. Heads being so firmly folded and solid that they can be shipped to distant markets and arrive in good condition. Can be highly recommended. The glossy leaves are thick, nicely crimped and curled; outside they are beautifully variegated with dark bronze and green. The heads when cut open have a rich creamy-yellow heart.
