The 1906 caption reads: The Martyrdom and Death of Saint Stanislaus. Colors painted on wood altar. The original is in the Museum for Art in Breslau [present-day Wroclaw in Poland]." Stanisław Kostka was a Polish novice of the Society of Jesus. He is venerated in the Catholic Church as Saint Stanislaus Kostka (1550-1568).
