Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. 30th January 2016. The street carnival is very traditional in Rio de Janeiro, but the fights and thefts are very common. For this reason, there is enhanced policing in local parades of the carnival blocks. On the afternoon of Saturday, January 30, 2016, the carnival group "Sympathy is Almost Love," paraded by the beachfront of Ipanema and Leblon. At various times police had to intervene to prevent fights and confusion among the revelers. The large consumption of alcoholic beverages is one of the reasons favoring the fights between revelers.
